New Music Tuesday:The Classic Crime

Tooth & Nail’s The Classic Crime is releasing a brand new album today entitled Vagabonds. The Classic Crime is a great rock band out of Seattle who started gaining attention back in 2006. Although they’ve been on tour with known Christian bands such as Emery, Anberlin and Relient K and are often found on the Christian playlists, The Classic Crime has gone on record and said that they are not a “Christian band.”

Lead singer Matt MacDonald explains, “We believe faith is personal, and can be only held by an individual person. To entitle a group ‘Christian’ would be to assume that the group has a collective soul, or at least individual souls tied to a solid collective belief. Not everyone in our band is decidedly set in their faith, and we respect that.”

But before you go all religious and decide to write them off as another band you can’t listen to because you’ll never hear your pastor recommend them or your worship leader cover their latest hit, give them a try.
