Walk in Other Shoes
In life we have so many opportunities to judge people. I’m talking countless times per day. From the smallest things of “can you believe what she’s wearing?” to the larger things of what choices people make in their lives. If we’re not careful, we start to believe that our small little bubble of a world is actually the world. If we don’t agree with something or understand it, we write it off as wrong or “weird.”
But the thing is, what’s weird to us, is not weird to the person experiencing it. We have no right to judge another life.
I don’t have much more to say about this issue. To me it’s pretty simple. You’re not right when you probably think you are. Sure there are issues that are yes or no, but the majority of the issues aren’t so. Before you make the decision to assume something about another person, take a minute and put on their shoes. Maybe, just maybe, they’re not so weird after all.
