This Day in My History

There are very few times in life that I can look back and say “wow, what a month!” So when it does happen, I think it’s worth remembering.

Well around this time 5 years ago, my life had a very big change. 5 years ago, Thanksgiving time, Chris and I started seeing each other. And as we all know, this decision changed my life. Because of these first few dates I’ve become a Christian, discovered a lot of hidden talents, fell in love like I never knew, had more laughs than I thought possible and really found joy in being a girlfriend, then a wife, and soon to be a mom.

Of a bit less historic significance, but still a huge milestone, Thanksgiving time, 5 years ago, I purchased my first new car. My 2005 Madza 3 creatively named “Mazi.” Buying a car is a big deal. Buying a car that your dad doesn’t want you to get is an even bigger deal. And years later, when the car has been so good to me and has caused very little problems, my dad recognizing that he should have trusted my judgment and thanking me for not listening to him, is the biggest deal of all. There is nothing like the feeling of a father respecting the opinion and mind of his daughter.

So with all of this in mind, I just want to say thank you to God for 5 years ago. It’s been a great life ever since.
